Our client is not only a beekeeper but also the owner of a honey farm, managing the entire process from hive care to honey extraction and processing. The farm focuses on quality, producing natural, premium honey primarily for export to the U.S. and European markets, targeting high-end customers.
We first contacted them in July 2024 through our company’s CRM system. As Newray specializes in glass honey jars, we introduced a suitable wholesale packaging solution for premium honey. The client decided to start with a trial order—over 4,000 units of 750ml Ergo honey storage jar with gold lids. This initial order served to evaluate both the quality of our bee storage jars and our ability to deliver on time and communicate effectively.
The experience was positive, and soon after, they placed another order of a similar size. After building confidence, they began exploring customization, especially screen printing for branding. From that point on, 380ml glass honey jars with lid and custom logo printing became a standard part of their orders. Over time, order volumes grew steadily, eventually reaching full container loads, which gradually became the norm as their business matured.
In 2025, changes in U.S. tariffs temporarily disrupted their procurement cycle. The additional costs made planning difficult, but we worked closely with them to adjust schedules and avoid major delays until trade conditions stabilized. Another challenge was cash flow. As a fast-growing company, the client occasionally struggled to pay the standard deposit. To support their growth, we agreed to reduce the deposit required to start production—an arrangement that allowed them to continue ordering without financial strain.
Quality control for screen printing also required extra attention. Some early batches had minor issues such as smudges or incomplete prints. After the client raised these concerns, Newray assigned additional staff to oversee the entire process, implementing strict inspection, cleaning, and finishing with 100% re-inspection. Subsequent orders achieved zero defects, and we continue to strive to uphold their trust.
Cost optimization was another key area of collaboration. Initially, the client chose elegant but expensive wooden lids. In response to market changes, we recommended custom plastic lid molds to reduce unit costs without compromising appearance. For logistics, we encouraged the client to switch from monthly 20-foot container shipments to bimonthly 40-foot containers, reducing per-unit shipping costs and improving efficiency.
